After spending a few years stablishing myself as a writer I went back to work, over a year ago. I knew I had to earn money to support my writing. When I became part-time, I was hoping to have some free days to myself that could be dedicated to writing. Alas! After working part-time and doing my trainings in my own time, I am mentally and physically too exhausted to write. It's the first time that I'm experiencing writer's block which such intensity. I have handed in my notice of resignation and hope to be able to go back to writing soon. I will probably carry on working as a locum. This should, theoretically at least, give me more control over days that I chose to work. As it stands, I don't know how to balance work and writing together and I do not know how those writers who cannot earn money from writing achieve this balance, but I'm hoping to find out soon. Any advice is welcome.
